SECURITY
Certificate III in Security Operations - Control Room Operator (PRS30103)
Overview

Nationally recognised qualification that satisfies training criteria for licensing of an unarmed guard working in a control room or monitoring centre. The course is designed for basic control room and monitoring centre operations. Topics include monitoring centre operations, database management and controlling field staff.

Job Prospects
The Security Industry is a rapidly expanding profession providing exciting and challenging opportunities in a variety of areas. As the industry continues to expand, the expectations of clients utilising control room operator services also rises. With the successful completion of Certificate III in Security Operations, course participants can seek employment in higher level operational security positions.
Delivery
The course is presented in line with adult learning principles incorporating structured tutorials, interactive workshops, case studies, video, practical assignments and workplace application. Individual and group work is conducted during the program.

*The Australian Institute of Public Safety offers this unit in their entry level licensing course for crowd controllers and security guards.


If you have completed this unit and any of the above units you will be entitled to apply for recognition of prior learning.
Duration
The course comprises of a blended delivery approach incorporating 3 days classroom attendance and home/workplace application.
Presenters
Course presenters are all recognised industry experts holding relevant experience and training qualifications. They include security industry specialists, former and current serving police officers, lawyers, OH&S practitioners and organisational development consultants.
Prerequisites
Students must have completed Certificate II in Security Operations PRS20103 or applied for RPL for previous qualifications completed. It is preferable that candidates are currently working in a control room or monitoring centre environment.
