Certificate III in Security Operations - Bodyguard Licensing Program (PRS30103) - CRICOS - 060786G

Overview

The Licensing Division of Victoria Police require this program to be completed prior to obtaining a bodyguard licence.

The aim of the Certificate III in Security Operations (Bodyguard Licensing) program is to further develop a student’s proficiency in providing operational security services including responding to security risk situations, maintaining safety, leading teams, providing safety for persons at risk and preparing and presenting security documentation and reports.

As the industry continues to expand, the expectations of clients utilising bodyguard services also rises. With the successful completion of Certificate III in Security Operations, course participants can seek employment in higher level operational security positions.

Delivery

The course is presented in line with adult learning principles incorporating structured tutorials, interactive workshops, case studies, video, practical assignments and workplace application. Individual and group work is conducted during the program.

*The Australian Institute of Public Safety offers this unit in their entry level licensing course for crowd controllers and security guards.

If you have previoiusly completed this unit or any of the above you will be entitled to apply for recognition of prior learning.

Duration

The course comprises of a blended delivery approach incorporating both classroom attendance and home/workplace application.

Participants are required to attend the Institute for 6 days and complete some workbooks in their own time.

Presenters

Course presenters are all recognised industry experts holding relevant experience and training qualifications. They include security industry specialists, former and current serving police officers, lawyers, OH&S practitioners and organisational development consultants.

Prerequisites

Students must have completed Certificate II in Security Operations PRS20103 or applied for RPL for previous qualifications completed. AIPS also recommends that candidates have held a Crowd Control Licence for at least 6 months.
