Certificate III in Security Operations (Armed Guard / Cash-in-Transit) Licensing Program (PRS30103)
Overview
The Licensing Service Division of the Victoria Police requires this qualification to be successfully completed to qualify for an armed guard / cash-in-transit licence.

The aim of the Certificate III in Security Operations (Armed Guard / Cash-in-Transit) Licensing program is to develop a student's proficiency in providing operational security services in the context of high risk asset protection including responding to security risk situations, maintaining safety, leading teams, defensive tactics, firearms, cash in transit and preparing and presenting security documentation and reports.

The Security Industry is a rapidly expanding profession providing exciting opportunities in a variety of areas. Persons seeking employment as an armed guard or within cash-in-transit must complete accredited training to meet licensing requirements.
Delivery
The course is presented at an off-site location by CODE ONE : Firearms Training in line with adult learning principles incorporating structured tutorials, interactive workshops, case studies, distance learning and practical assessments. Individual and group work is conducted during the program.
Content

Firearms, Cash-in-Transit, Control Persons, Baton and Handcuffing units to be completed as partial completion of the Cert III in Security Operations (Armed Guard / Cash-in-Transit) qualification to obtain a firearms licence. Training is provided as a complete course package or as individual qualifications.

Duration
Certificate III in Security Operations (Armed Guard / Cash-in-Transit units only) is delivered in a flexible learning approach incorporating 3 days direct delivery at an off site location.
Presenters
In affiliation with AIPS, CODE ONE : Firearms Training is the preferred training provider with course presenters all being recognised industry experts holding relevant experience in armed operation and cash-in-transit and include security industry specialists, lawyers, OH&S practitioners and organisational development consultants. Our trainers have the current expertise and make all sessions both practical and enjoyable.
Prerequisites
Students must hold a current security guard licence and/or have completed the Certificate II in Security Operations PRS20103. Student must complete the Certificate III in Security Operations course separately.

*Note: If you are assessed not yet competent on either the firearm exam or practical assessment of the firearms / cash-in-transit course then a $100 fee will apply to resit either component. In line with Licensing Services Division (LSD) candidates must wait a minimum of five (5) days before resit is allowed.
