RISK MANAGEMENT
Certificate IV in Security and Risk Management (Code PRS40103) - CRICOS - 060788F
Overview
The aim of this course is to develop a student’s competence in risk management and risk assessment methodologies with a specific focus on security related risk. Subject matter includes asset identification, threat assessment, monitoring security operations and advising on security needs. Cert IV in Security and Risk Management is the entry level training requirement for business licensing.
Job Prospects
The application of risk management in security is increasingly recognised as a core aspect of business. Organisations rely heavily on the advice of appropriately trained and qualified professionals to identify, evaluate, analyze and treat a broad range of potential security threats in modern society.
Delivery
Course delivery aligns with adult learning principles incorporating structured tutorials, interactive workshops, case studies, some blended learning and practical assignments. It is expected that students will complete a number of projects in their own time.
Content

Candidates will need to complete 11 core units and 4 electives (2 electives can be imported from any other relevant endorsed training package at Cert IV level). Electives can be selected according to security business licensing requirements as set out below.

Duration
Certificate IV in Security and Risk Management is completed over 8 weeks with a combination of evening and weekend sessions.
Presenters
Course presenters are all recognised industry experts holding relevant experience and training qualifications. They include security consultants, risk management specialists, former and current serving police investigators, lawyers, corporate investigation specialists and organisational development consultants.
Prerequisites
Students must possess reasonable literacy and numeracy skills with a sound grasp of spoken English.
