Overview
The aim of this course is to develop a
student’s competence in risk management and risk assessment
with a specific focus on security related risk. Subject matter
includes asset identification, threat assessment, consequence
analysis and risk management planning. The qualification also
includes extensive understanding of staff management and business
skills.
Job Prospects
The application of risk management in security
is increasingly recognised as a core aspect of business. Organisations
rely heavily on the advice of appropriately trained and qualified
professionals to identify, evaluate, analyse and treat a broad
range of potential security threats in modern society.
Delivery
Course delivery is in line with adult learning
principles incorporating structured tutorials, interactive
workshops, case studies, some blended learning and practical
assignments. It is expected that students will complete a
number of projects in their own time.

Duration
Completion is subject to an individual
student’s progress however an approximate time frame
of twelve months applies.
Presenters
Course presenters are all recognised industry
experts holding relevant experience and training qualifications.
They include security professionals, risk management specialists,
former and current serving police investigators, lawyers,
corporate investigation specialists and organisational development
consultants.
Prerequisites
Students must possess reasonable literacy
and numeracy skills with a sound grasp of spoken English and
have completed the Certificate IV in Security and Risk Management.
