Overview
The aim of this course is to develop the
ability of staff to recognise the common causes of occupational
violence and aggression and implement localised and team strategies
when faced with situations involving the display of workplace
violence and aggression.
This program is generally aimed at persons involved in “high
risk” roles such as emergency or aggression management
teams in a hospital or psychiatric facility, youth workers,
psychiatric services staff or law enforcement professionals
with a compliance and detainment responsibility.
Job Prospects
This course is not directly linked to career
planning and is considered a human resources and employee
development program.
Delivery
The course is presented in line with adult
learning principles incorporating structured tutorials, interactive
workshops, case studies and in class practical exercises.

Course presenters are all recognised industry
experts holding relevant experience and training qualifications.
They include law enforcement officers, lawyers, occupational
health and safety practitioners, psychologists and organisational
development consultants. Subject to client needs, trainers
for specific workplace settings can be requested to facilitate
programs.
