Course in Handling Occupational Violence

Overview
The aim of this course is to develop the
ability of staff to recognise the common causes of occupational
violence and aggression and implement localised strategies
when faced with situations involving the display of workplace
violence and aggression.
This program is generally aimed at persons involved in customer
service and reception type roles that do not necessarily entail
regular conflict or intervention by staff. These may include
reception staff, customer service personnel, information officers
or other general staff.
Job Prospects
This course is not directly linked to career
planning and is considered a human resources and employee
development program.
Delivery
The course is presented in line with adult
learning principles incorporating structured tutorials, interactive
workshops, case studies and in class practical exercises.

They include law enforcement officers, lawyers, occupational
health and safety practitioners, psychologists and organisational
development consultants. Subject to client needs, trainers
for specific workplace settings can be requested to facilitate
programs.
