FIRST AID
Course in First Aid - Level 2 Provide First Aid (21593VIC)
Overview
The aim of this course is to develop a student’s competence in providing emergency first aid. This includes the ability to respond to first aid situations, casualty assessment, decision-making, referral and basic life support functions including rescue breathing and cardio pulmonary resuscitation (CPR). The program also addresses issues related to patient management such as providing first aid for fractures and wounds.
Job Prospects
This qualification satisfies the requirements of many employers where first aid is a pre-requisite for employment.
Delivery
Course delivery aligns with adult learning principles and includes structured tutorials, interactive workshops, practical skills instruction, case studies and practical assessments. Students are able to participate in a number of practical sessions to demonstrate competence in a broad range of work related areas.
The course is competency based and matched to specific learning outcomes contained within nationally recognised training qualifications for first aid.

Duration
The Institute offers completion of this training by:

Full time attendance over 2 days and distance learning tasks.

Presenters
Instructors are all recognised industry experts holding relevant experience and training qualifications. They include, former paramedics, ambulance personnel, first aiders and first aid trainers.
Prerequisites
Students must possess reasonable literacy and numeracy skills with a sound grasp of spoken English.
