EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT - Level 2/Level 2 + Fire Extinguishers
PUAWER001A- Identify, prevent and report potential workplace emergency situations
PUAWER004A-Respond to workplace emergencies
PUAWER005A - Operate as part of an emergency control organisation
PUAWER008A - Confine small workplace emergencies (optional fire extinguisher training)
Overview
Nationally accredited units of competency aimed at nominated wardens in an organisation. Content includes implementation of workplace emergency prevention procedures and the ability to respond to specified emergencies. It also includes practical fire extinguisher training.
Job Prospects
This program has been developed for persons already employed however is also suitable for persons about to enter the workforce.
Delivery
The course is presented in line with adult learning principles and involves a blended approach to training incorporating interactive on-line CD format and direct delivery strategies. Fire Extinguisher training is a practical session.
Content
Includes all content from level 1 and:

• Initiate and control first emergency response
• Anticipate development of emergencies
• Ensure emergency prevention processes are implemented
• Ensure emergency control equipment and facilities remain effective
• Principles and methods of extinguishments and practical application
Duration

Blended Delivery - 1 hour interactive online CD, 1.5 hours direct delivery focusing on client's specific site and optional 1 hour practical fire extinguisher training.
or
Full Direct Delivery - 2.5 hours of instruction involving theory and assessments and optional 1 hour practical fire extinguisher training.

Presenters
Course presenters are all recognised industry experts holding relevant experience and training qualifications. They include fire and emergency specialists, OH&S practitioners and risk management consultants.
Prerequisites
Students must possess reasonable literacy and numeracy skills with a sound grasp of spoken English.
