| On this page we will post news on all
alumni since we last heard from you eg: promotions, changes
of job, getting a job, travel and family news. If things
have changed in your life, please let us know.
Since the Spring Edition of the Newsletter
went out, the following students have updated their information:
Nichola Bell (2005)
Nichola is working as a trainee court registrar
at the Ringwood Magistrates Court, after two short-term
legal jobs - as a receptionist in a law firm and then as
a court officer at the Federal Magistrates Court. Nichola
believes her experience in the first two jobs helped her
get the job she really wanted.
Ben Manning (2004)
Ben is not working in the criminal justice field but is
really enjoying his job as a project manager with Programmed
Maintenance Services - a property maintenance company. He
started in a graduate role and is responsible for a sales
budget and site supervision and says the the job is autonomous,
demanding, flexible and very rewarding.
Joanne Ellison (2005)
Joanne is hoping to get into the Australian Federal Police,
and has completed the first round of tests. Meanwhile she
is working in retail and has big travel plans!
Renia Gray (2003)
Renia has been working at VCAT in case administration but
is about to start an exciting new role at AUSTRAC, as a
compliance officer. Her tip: "Tell those new graduates
persistence is definitely the key - keep your eye on what
you want and you will get there - eventually !!!"
Matthew Pearce (2005)
Matthew has just applied and been successful in a role at
VCAT. He is now a "Case Administration Officer"
which is a grade 2 position. This is primarily an administrative
role but he will be involved in some bench clerking in the
hearing rooms. Congratulations Matthew on your achievement.
Beck Johnson (2005)
Beck has just completed the Camp America program for youth
with special needs. She has decided to stay on in Canada
(since meeting her partner) and explore the opportunities
as a youth worker or employment in the field of disabilities.
Good luck Beck.
Megan Rodgers (2003)
Megan is not only completing her psychology qualifications
at Deakin University but has now successfully gained employment
at Parkville, Melbourne Juvenile Justice Centre. She will
be working casually at first to fit in with her university
commitments. She thinks this may cement her desire NEVER
to have children!!!!! Well done Megan and I am sure this
will be a fulfilling role with many positive achievements.
Kelly Harding (2005)
Kelly has been travelling extensively through Europe and
Asia for the last 4 months with her partner. Kelly says
it is great to be back in the comfort of her own bed!!!!
Some exciting news though - Kelly's partner, Kirk, proposed
while they were travelling through Santorini. Congratulations
to you both from all your AIPS friends and staff.
